What ages do you teach?
We teach swim lessons to children ages 6 months to adult. The most common age group is typically children ages 3-8.
Where do you teach?
Lessons can take place at your favorite pool: your home, a friend or neighbor's pool, a beach or country club, or any open water (bay, lake, or ocean). We are based in Oceanport, NJ, and we are accepting students in Eastern Monmouth County. Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to offer pool lessons if you do not have access to a pool.
When do you teach?
We offer lessons on weekdays from 9am-5pm. Early morning, evening, and weekend times can be scheduled on a case-by-case basis and dependent on your instructor's availability (an additional fee may apply).
What types of lessons do you offer?
• Private: 1 Child per Lesson
• Semi-Private: 2 Children per Lesson*
• Small Group: 3-4 Children per Lesson*
• Adult Lessons: While most of our website language is tailored to children, we also teach adults! In fact, if you are around children in the water and you are not confident in your swimming abilities, we strongly advise you to take a few lessons to strengthen your skills—for everyone's safety. Any of the above options are also available for beginner and intermediate adults who are looking to learn-to-swim, refine their technique, learn a new stroke, improve their fitness, or prepare for an open-water swim.
*Our semi-private or small group lessons are "build-your-own" and children in these lessons must be of a similar age and ability level. It is the responsibility of the adult(s) arranging the lesson to confirm this prior to scheduling. If you have questions or need help, please reach out to your instructor for guidance.
How long are your lessons?
Our most popular lessons are 15- and 30-minutes in length. However, we can also provide 45- and 60-minute lessons, if requested. Please speak with your instructor about which lesson length would be best for your child.
Please Note: we have a minimum teaching time of one hour per location per visit. There are different ways to fill the hour, however, two children taking back-to-back 30-minute private lessons is most common. Please ask your instructor about how to earn rewards for inviting your friends to take lessons in your pool!
How often should we take lessons?
It honestly depends on the age, maturity, and ability of the swimmer and your goals for them. We strongly recommend each family plan to initially plan to book a minimum of 2-3 lessons per week for 2-3 consecutive weeks. Afterwards, lessons can be more spaced out. We believe this model at the onset is best to create a solid foundation—especially for beginner and intermediate swimmers. If you'd rather do a "boot-camp" style where you schedule lessons five days in a row for 1-2 weeks, please speak to your instructor and we will try to accommodate the best we can.
How do we schedule lessons?
Due to the nature of a traveling swim school and all the fun things that happen in the summer (camps, play dates, last minute day trips, vacations, etc.), we cannot commit to an exact day and time frame each week all summer. This would make it so easy and we would love to, but it has never worked well.
Instead, your instructor will ask for your availability 1-2 weeks in advance so they can create somewhat of a linear driving route and schedule nearby families before or after each other. It's an inexact science, but our instructors are trained to serve you the best they can. The more flexible you are the better!
If you are planning to go on vacation or there will be a major change in your typical schedule (parties, camps, vacations, etc.), we kindly ask that you notify us 2-3 weeks in advance so we can plan accordingly. Keeping open lines of communication will greatly help our wonderful instructors plan and maintain consistent hours throughout the summer.
How do we pay for lessons?
Once you have officially registered on our website and paid your annual enrollment fee invoice (heavily discounted for returning families), you will be assigned an instructor. Your instructor will reach out to discuss your goals and availability for your first couple weeks of lessons. Once your lesson times are confirmed, your instructor will send you a link to our private booking page for you to officially schedule and pre-pay for your lessons. Please note: due to the nature of a traveling swim school, we may ask you to tweak your lesson time to eliminate gaps in our schedule. Thank you in advance for your flexibility and understanding.

Our Promise to You
We promise not to waste your time or money by teaching the same skills over and over again just to keep your kids in lessons. We are extremely busy in the summer and want your child to swim as quickly (and safely) as possible! We will be honest with you when we see your child's progress plateau, and we can discuss with you why that might be happening and how to proceed (not focused in lessons, needs more pool time in between swim lessons, time to take a break, etc.).
